East Lake - Henry

Accessible from Chicago, St. Louis, and Kansas City

East Lake is a beautiful body of water in Mt Pleasant, Iowa. It is a fantastic city getaway, located just three hours from Chicago, St. Louis, or Kansas City.

Henry County Health Center, restaurants, hotels, and other city conveniences, are located near East Lake. Southeast Iowa Regional Airport is approximately 30 miles away in Burlington.

The Lake and Surrounding Park

Residents of the lake enjoy the surrounding recreational area, East Lake Park. The park’s paved trail for walking, jogging, and biking is its most-used amenity. Others include picnic tables, playgrounds, and a pavilion.

The park’s light traffic and low noise level make it a premier fishing location. The lake holds a population of bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and bream. Other athletes have fun playing the park’s 18-hole disc golf course.

Golfing and City Events

A golfer will enjoy the scenic nine-hole course offered at Mount Pleasant Country Club.

Mt Pleasant’s Main Street is host to several annual events, including Burgers & Bikes, Saving the Green Beer Walk, Easter Egg Hunt, Jingle, Mix, and Mingle, Pizza War, and Friendsgiving Feast.
